Chinese infrastructure construction giant - China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) inked recently a business contract for the Eindu to Kawkareik Road improvement project’s Lot 1 and Lot 2.
The project is part of the East–West Economic Corridor, one of the three main economic corridors of the Greater Mekong Subregion which covers Cambodia, parts of China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
It is another project CRBC and Myanmar’s construction authority would cooperate to construct after the Chindwin River Bridge since CRBC entered the market of Myanmar in 1993.
Completion of the project will improve the transportation network along the Myanmar-Thailand border, provide a convenient logistics transportation corridor and drive local economic development.
Eindu to Kawkareik Road Improvement Project, Myanmar, located in Kayin state, east Myanmar, is about 65 kilometers long and 11 meters wide. It will be constructed according to the second-class road standard with a construction period of 36 months.
