BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- The first phase of Sihanoukville port coal-fired power plant in Cambodia built by Northwest Power Construction (NWPC) of China Energy Engineering Co., Ltd. (CEEC) has gone through full load trial operation.
The first phase of the project includes three 135 mw generators. The system and equipments were in stable operation condition and the project has been officially handed over to the business owner for operation.
Located in the beach of Sihanoukville bay, 14 kilometers northeast of Sihanoukvill, it is the largest power station project in Cambodia.
The project is expected to improve insufficient power supply in Cambodia upon completion and meet growing demand for electricity of Cambodian industry, agriculture and households lifes.
