CTIEC signs EPC contracts for cement, float glass projects in Algeria

December 15, 2016

Abstract : China Triumph International Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CTIEC) and Algeria’s STG Engineering and Real Estate Development Company signed contracts on building cement and float glass production lines in Algeria recently.

BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- China Triumph International Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CTIEC) and Algeria’s STG Engineering and Real Estate Development Company signed contracts on building cement and float glass production lines in Algeria recently.

Officials from Algeria said the cement line project is an expansion of a first cement production line which proved to be a successful cooperation between the two sides. Currently, construction of the first line is in the final stage, and it is scheduled to start operation in early 2017.

Upon completion, the project will greatly increase cement supply in southern Algeria, and even may help the country realize cement exports to its neighboring countries.

The float glass and porcelain project, which will be jointly built by DIVINDUS and CTIEC, is located in the south of the country. After rounds of technical studies, both sides agreed to adopt China’s advanced production technology and equipment to efficiently produce high-quality float glass and ceramic products in line with international standards.

In response to China’s Belt and Road initiative, CTIEC has been actively exploiting the building materials and engineering markets in Algeria, especially in the country’s southern region where the industrial foundation is relatively weak.  (Edited by Yang Qi, kateqiyang@xinhua.org)
