Recently, the last piece of heating surface modular of the heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) 21 was installed successfully for the Oman Salalah II project contracted by SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Corporation (SEPCOIII) in Dhofar province of Oman.
The heating surface of the waste heat boiler adopts modular design and every boiler contains six pieces of modular, with the maximum net weight at 175 tonnes. The modular hoisting started in September 2016 and ended last week.
The Oman Slalah II project is to build a power plant using GE 6FA gas turbines, with a total installed capacity of 447.8MW and includes two blocks, planned to be put into operation in January 2018, after a 30-month long construction period.
Previously on June 5, 2016, SEPCOIII signed an EPC contract of 332 million US dollars with the project company DGC in Muscat, according to reports with power.in-en.com. The developer of the project is a consortium of Saudi Arabia-based power and water project developer – ACWA Power, Mitsui from Japan and Dhofar International Development & Investment Holding Company (DIDIC) in Oman.
