BEIJING, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- China XD Electric Co., Ltd. (601179.SH) recently won the bid for a power transmission and transformation project of Electric Company of Ecuador. It is the first Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) contract China XD Electric has ever clinched in Americas.
The EPC contract is valued at 30 million U.S. dollars. The project is located in northwest Ecuador, near the country’s border with Columbia.
The project includes a 230/138 kv transformer station with an 18 kilometers long 138 kv line and a 10 kilometers long 230 kv line. The construction period is 20 months.
This project will contribute to connecting the power transmission lines of Ecuador and Colombia, which plays a vital role in local electric power planning. (Edited by Yang Qi, kateqiyang@xinhua.org)
