HONG KONG, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Intellectual property (IP) experts from Hong Kong and Guangdong agreed on Wednesday to continue working on the development of IP trading between the two places.
The agreement came at the 16th Meeting of the Guangdong/Hong Kong Expert Group on the Protection of Intellectual Property (IP) Rights which was held here Wednesday.
At the meeting, the expert group agreed to further strengthen cooperation, reinforce existing accomplishments, continue to promote the development of IP trading and high-end service industry.
And they also agreed to enhance the level and efficiency of commercialization of research and development outcomes of the two places.
The two sides plan to sign the Agreement on Guangdong/Hong Kong Co-operation on Intellectual Property (2017-2018) after the 20th Plenary of the Hong Kong-Guangdong Cooperation Joint Conference.
Hong Kong and Guangdong officials who are in charge of intellectual property said the two sides will make further efforts to strengthen their IP cooperation in the future.
Cooperation projects in the year 2017-18 cover seven areas with 28 projects in total, aiming to embrace the Belt and Road Initiative and the establishment of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and take the cooperation to a higher level.
The expert group was set up after the Sixth Plenary of the Hong Kong-Guangdong Cooperation Joint Conference in August, 2003, aimed at enhancing exchanges and cooperation in various aspects of IP protection.
