SHANGHAI, June 13 (Xinhua) -- China's shipments of wearable devices rose 20.3 percent year on year to 10.35 million units in the first quarter of 2017, according to research firm International Data Corporation (IDC).
Smart wearables posted even stronger growth of 32.3 percent, IDC said in a report released Monday.
Children's GPS tracking watchmakers Qihoo 360 and Teemo climbed the bestseller list to grab the fourth and fifth largest shares of the wearables market in the quarter, with booming demand for their watches.
In the three months, the shipments of children's watches rose 64.9 percent year on year to 3.5 million units.
The top three brands, including Xiaomi, reported annual declines in shipments due to fierce market competition and end of sales promotions, it said.
