DOHA, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- State-owned Qatar Petroleum has decided to raise fuel prices in October, Qatar news agency (QNA) reported Thursday.
Starting from Oct. 1, the petrol prices will increase from 1.6 riyals (0.43 U.S. dollars) a liter to 1.7 riyals, while diesel will cost 1.55 riyals a liter, up from 1.5 riyals in September, QNA said.
Fuel prices in Qatar were allowed to fluctuate from May 1 last year in response to the changes in the global market .
Qatar is suffering from a blockade by the Saudi-led Arab quartet, which have cut off all air, land and sea links with the gas-rich country, accusing the latter of supporting terrorism and extremism and seeking closer ties with Iran, a Saudi rival, which Doha has repeatedly denied.
