BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua)-- The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has organized a drafting of the innovation development strategy for intelligent cars, so as to emphasize the strategic direction of China's auto industry in a near future, Wu Wei, a senior official with NDRC said at the 2017 International Forum (TEDA) on Chinese Automotive Industry Development, which was held on September 9 -10, quoted by the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News.
"Intelligent car development is an irresistible trend, as well as a major opportunity for China's auto industry," said Wu. The national strategy for the innovative development of intelligent cars will become a magnificent blueprint and action program guiding China's smart car industry. A near-term action plan including a specific roadmap and timetable will be hammered out for the implementation of the strategy.
Moreover, China will establish a national innovative development platform for intelligent vehicles, in bid to undertake important duties including basic standard formulation and industrial ecology cultivation. The R&D projects with core technology of intelligent vehicles will be incorporated into one of the national major schemes to meet the application requirements of upscale intelligent cars.
