TUNIS, April 5 (Xinhua) -- The 34th session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council called on its members here Wednesday to coordinate to face the disturbed climate in Arab region.
The session started at the General Secretariat of the Council in Tunis with the presence of representatives of the Arab League, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Arab Tourism Organization and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
The session comes in a regional and global context marked by a disturbed climate with ascending threats of organized crimes, said the Tunisian Interior Minister Hadi Majdoub in an inaugural speech delivered on behalf of the Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi.
Moreover, Majdoub also pointed to combat against extremist groups, noting that financial and logistical resources as well as technological progress in some Arab countries will not allow these countries to eradicate terrorism solemnly.
The Arab interior ministers will also discuss other issues, including road safety, drug trafficking, the Arab civil protection strategy and the Arab strategy for intellectual security.
