LJUBLJANA, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Slovenia hosted a conference with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on Thursday in a bid to explore business opportunities in the Gulf, Slovenian Press Agency (STA) reported.
The conference aimed at finding "common denominators for the resolution of burning issues such as climate change, energy security, and sustainability," Slovenian Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec said.
Slovenia has great interest in cooperation with Gulf countries and are pursuing well-conceived economic policies, Erjavec said.
For Slovenia, one of the priority areas of cooperation is tourism.
Slovenia was one of the most water-rich countries in Europe, an excellent destination for regeneration, and a safe country that can provide privacy, he said.
Erjavec also said that cooperation could be boosted with the opening of an embassy in one of the GCC countries, which the Slovenian Foreign Ministry is planning for next year.
The GCC comprises Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Enditem
