December 13, 2016

Abstract : Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo Monday vowed to further Polish-Czech cooperation in the infrastructure sector following a meeting with her Czech counterpart Bohuslav Sobotka in Wisla, southern Poland.

WARSAW, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo Monday vowed to further Polish-Czech cooperation in the infrastructure sector following a meeting with her Czech counterpart Bohuslav Sobotka in Wisla, southern Poland.

"We want to implement many important projects together," he said.

Both prime ministers discussed cooperation in the infrastructure aspect, including roads and waterways.

The talks covered issues such as the S3 road, which is set to connect with the Czech D11 highway -- a project implemented with the usage of European Union funds, and the navigability on the Oder river.

"We have similar points of view on numerous issues," Sobotka said after the meeting, adding, "Our bilateral relations... are partnership within the EU, we are also partners within the NATO."

The two prime ministers discussed also the expansion of Turow mine and the necessity of improving the quality of air in the Silesia region.

The upcoming signing of a bilateral agreement on the police cooperation were announced. The Polish prime minister also thanked Bohuslav Sobotka for his declaration of support for Polish candidature for non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
