HANOI, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's export turnover of agro-forest-aquatic products in the first half of this year totaled over 17 billion U.S. dollars, up 13.1 percent year-on-year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said Thursday.
Specifically, the export value of main agricultural products increased 15.4 percent to 9.1 billion U.S. dollars, that of forest products rose 12.8 percent to 3.8 billion U.S. dollars, and that of seafood climbed up 14.1 percent to 3.5 billion U.S. dollars.
Rice export witnessed a 4.9-percent growth in value to 1.2 billion U.S. dollars in the first six months of this year, while cashew nut export rose 20.8 percent in value to 333 million U.S. dollars despite the 4.4-percent decline in volume.
At the same time, wood and wood-based product export witnessed a year-on-year increase of 13.2 percent to 3.6 billion U.S. dollars.
