RIGA, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- In 2016, Latvia's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2 percent against a year before, according to updated data released on Tuesday by the national statistics office.
A flash estimate which the statistics office issued in January suggested that the Latvian economy grew by 1.6 percent last year.
In 2016, the value of the Latvian economy was 25 billion euros (26.48 billion U.S. dollars) at current prices and 21.8 billion euros at constant prices.
According to seasonally unadjusted data, manufacturing showed 6 percent annual growth in 2016, which included an 8 percent rise in timber production, and a 16 percent increase in manufacture of computers, electronic and optical equipment. Food production picked up 1 percent. (1 euro=1.06 U.S. dollar)
