PARIS, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Monthly unemployment rate in France fell by 0.9 percent in November, the lowest level since 2013, figures released by labor ministry showed on Monday.
French government received 3.447 million jobless claims in November, 31,800 fewer than last month. It was also a deline for three straight months.
On a yearly basis, the unemployment rate was down by 3.4 percent.
During the period of January to November, the number of people registered as out of work in mainland France also fell by 3.7 percent, according to the monthly report.
The ministry attributed the improvement to the government's "measures to support activity."
French Prime Minister Bernard Cazenevue said the results "confirm that the government's commitment for employment is bearing fruit."
He also pledged further government engagement in the battle for employment.
