BEIJING, Dec.19 (Xinhua) -- China’s non-financial Outbound Direct Investment (ODI) registered 161.7 billion U.S. dollars in the firstel even months, going up 55.3 percent year on year, according to the latest data with the Ministry of Commerce.
In terms of the industries’ distribution, 29.73 billion U.S. dollars flew to the manufacturing industry, up 151.9 percent year on year, taking up 18.4 percent. Among these, 16.76 billion U.S. dollars flew to the equipment manufacturing industry, 2.8 folds of that over the same period of last year, taking up 56.4 percent of the total outward investment in the manufacturing industry.
Chinese enterprises made a non-financial direct investment of 13.35 billion U.S. dollars in 53 countries along the Belt and Road routes in January-November, going down 4.7 percent year on year, taking up 8.3 percent of the total over the same period of time. The investment mainly flew to Singapore, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Iran and Russia.
Regarding the contracted projects overseas, the number of the contracts signed by the Chinese enterprises in 61 countries along the Belt and Road reached 7,367 in January-November, and the value of the newly-signed contracts amounted to 100.36 billion U.S. dollars, taking up 52.1 percent of China’s total contract value of the contracted projects over the same period of time and going up 40.1 percent year on year. The turnover reached 61.63 billion U.S.dollars, taking up 46.6 percent of the total, up 7.5 percent year on year.
The turnover of China’s overseas contracted projects in January-November in 2016 reached 132.22 billion U.S.dollars, up 1.6 percent year on year, and the value of the newly-signed contracts was 192.47 billion U.S. dollars, up 18.1 percent year on year.
Various kinds of workers dispatched abroad in January-November 2016 amounted to 436,000, decreasing 40,000 compared with those in the same period of last year. The workers dispatched for contracted projects reached 199,000, and those for labor cooperation were 237,000. At the end of November, the workers dispatched overseas reached 991,000, decreasing 47,000 compared with those in the same period of 2016. Enditem (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
