BEIJING, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) released the 13th five-year (2016-2020) development plan for the civil aviation industry on its website on December 22.
According to the plan, the five major tasks for the industry include ensuring aviation safety, building a comprehensive national airports system, improving overall service capability, improving air traffic security service level and promoting reform, transformation and innovative development.
The plan shows the administration plans to significantly increase civil aviation infrastructure and promote green development.
The administration sets the goal of passenger turnover ratio at 28 percent during the five year period. Its targets for total transport turnover, passenger transport volume and goods transport volume are respectively 142 billion ton-kilometer, 720 million person-time and 8.5 million tons, with an average annual growth of 10.8 percent, 10.4 percent and 10.8 percent.
Transport airports number 260, and build a well-structured, fully functional, secure and efficient airport network, with more 260 transport airports and over 500 general airports. Enditem (Edited by Yang Qi, kateqiyang@xinhua.org)
