BEIJING, Dec. 22 (Xinhua)--The State Council, China’s Cabinet released a 13th-Five Year development plan for national strategic emerging industry, proposing a comprehensive planning work on development targets, major tasks, and policies and measures of the industry in the period of 2016-2020.
The scheme proposes that the added value of strategic emerging industry would take up 15 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2020. Five new pillars with output value reaching 10 trillion yuan respectively, covering new-generation information technology, high-end manufacturing, green low carbon, and digital creative sectors, will be shaped to drive more than 1 million people employed annually.
The plan specifies eight tasks to further optimize industrial structures, including promoting the rapid development of information technology industry, high-end manufacturing and new materials industry, bioindustry, new energy automobile, environmental protection industry and digital creative industry. Meanwhile, the plan mapped out supporting measures to ensure policies implementation, including improving management mechanism, building industrial creative system, strengthening protection and use of the intellectual property, and increasing financial tax policies support.
The plan says that the emerging industry represents the development direction of a new round of technological revolution and industrial revolution, also a key sector of cultivating new economic growth points. Enditem (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
