BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- A sustainability team from State Grid Corporation of China presented an AI-powered green energy solution at the United Nations Global Compact Leaders Summit, held in New York from September 22 to 23.
The team from State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company presented its program "AI for Good: Chasing the Light, Seeking the Carbon" at a session themed "Collective Action and Systems Change," winning high praise from judges and participants.
Built on the grid's intelligent agent "Guangqing", the program offers technology innovation enterprises two free AI services: Powertrace for power supply path tracing and Carbonseek for full-process carbon tracking.
Powertrace monitors 9,517 transmission and distribution lines and 503 substations across Hangzhou in real time. It identifies risks within seconds and generates precise dispatching strategies within one minute, cutting annual average outage time per household to 3.15 minutes. Carbonseek calculates startups' carbon emissions hourly and by region, and helps manufacturers schedule production in the cleanest, lowest-carbon time slots.
The program has served 56 tech startups in Hangzhou, helping several smart manufacturers cut the carbon footprint of their products. (Edited by Liu Yilu)
