BELGRADE, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- An international touring exhibition exploring the intersection of traditional Chinese ink art and artificial intelligence (AI) opened Monday at the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade.
The exhibition, themed "Ink Art Asks the Future: International Touring Exhibition of Chinese Ink Art in the Era of AI," displayed nearly 40 works by 16 artists, including paintings, video and digital art. The exhibition is divided into three sections exploring contemporary interpretations of ink art, AI-assisted experimentation and cross-disciplinary innovation.
"The power of beauty, that is, art, can in the best way direct the power of technology for the benefit of humanity," said Stanko Blagojevic, an assistant minister of culture of Serbia, at the opening ceremony.
In a video address, Yang Xiaogang, director of the Shandong Art Museum, said the exhibition coincides with the 10th anniversary of the China-Serbia comprehensive strategic partnership. "Activating tradition with technology and expanding boundaries with innovation" are a shared pursuit of the two countries' arts communities, Yang said.
According to the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade, the exhibition is a 2026 project of the China National Arts Fund for communication, exchange and promotion, co-hosted by the Shandong Art Museum and the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade. It runs until Sept. 14.
