KATHMANDU, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- An auto show featuring over 50 automobile brands from various countries kicked off in Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Tuesday, showcasing new vehicles and mobility technologies to visitors.

Organized by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), the six-day NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 features 29 four-wheeler and 18 two-wheeler brands, along with products and services from other segments of the mobility industry.

Inaugurating the event, NAIMA Chairperson Ritu Singh Vaidya said the expo aims to provide a platform for automobile companies, technology providers, consumers and other stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore developments in the mobility sector.

"This is not just an auto show but a platform where the entire mobility ecosystem comes together," said Vaidya.

Over two dozen brands in the exhibition are Chinese, NAIMA Executive Director Raj Kumar Dulal said, adding that new models by Chery, Wuling, Dongfeng and Hongqi, among others, are on display.

"I checked different brands. I found Chinese brands more attractive both in terms of their design and price range compared to others," Sanjay Thapa, a visitor at the auto show, told Xinhua.

In addition to vehicle displays, the event includes various learning sessions and discussions on automobile technology, mobility trends and other issues concerning the industry.
