AMMAN, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- A concert showcasing traditional Chinese music was held Saturday in Amman, offering Jordanian audiences a glimpse into China's rich heritage.

The event, themed "Harmony Along the Silk Road," drew over 230 guests, including Jordanian Princess Jalila Bint Ali, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Guo Wei, Jordanian Minister of Culture Mustafa Al Rawashdeh, and Managing Director of the Royal Film Commission of Jordan Mohannad Al Bakri.

The concert featured musicians from across China performing a selection of traditional works, as well as live demonstrations of Chinese intangible cultural heritage, including Hainan coconut carving and traditional straw weaving.

In his remarks, Guo described culture as a bridge that transcends borders and connects hearts, expressing hope that the event would help Jordanian audiences gain a deeper understanding of an authentic, open, and vibrant China.

China stands ready to continue working with Jordan's Ministry of Culture and other partners to organize more cultural activities that foster mutual understanding and deepen friendship between the two peoples, he added.

"I love Chinese culture and music. The melodies reminded me of the magnificent mountains and rivers I visited in China," audience member Hisham Dajani told Xinhua.

The event was organized by the China Cultural Center in Amman as part of ongoing efforts to enhance cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between China and Jordan.
