With the rapid growth of new energy vehicles (NEVs), State Grid East Inner Mongolia Electric Power Co., Ltd. has accelerated charging infrastructure deployment, improving service models, expanding network coverage, and applying advanced technology to ensure charging reliability.
The company has launched a pioneering service model in Tongliao City that allows EV owners to handle power applications the moment they purchase a car. By integrating data from the State Grid mobile app with automaker systems, customers can submit electricity requests and confirm supply plans while signing their car purchase contracts. This allows charging pile construction to proceed alongside the vehicle delivery process.
Currently, the number of EV charging users in Tongliao has surpassed 10,000. All 11 pairs of highway service areas in the region now have full charging coverage, with a total operating capacity of 281.2 megawatts.
To prepare for the May Day holiday travel rush, the company has established a 15-minute emergency service radius. All charging stations are operating at full power, and maintenance teams have increased the frequency of equipment inspections and temperature checks to ensure rapid response.
In Hexigten Banner of Chifeng City, State Grid Chifeng Power Supply Company has optimized its service by creating individual files for every household. They have implemented a system where the first staff member contacted is responsible for seeing the task through to completion within a strict timeframe.
So far, 570 installations have been completed with a total capacity of 20,363 kilowatts, achieving full coverage across all local tourist attractions. To address grid load issues in core scenic areas, the company is accelerating grid upgrades and plans to complete 11.3 kilometers of new 10 kilovolt power lines before the 2026 peak tourist season.
Meanwhile, the largest smart micro station in East Inner Mongolia to integrate solar power, energy storage, and bidirectional charging has begun operations in Aohan Banner. This facility uses advanced technologies such as liquid cooled high power charging and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) systems, allowing electric vehicles to recharge in only 10 minutes.
The banner has now built 79 charging stations with a total investment of 76 million yuan. These facilities include 175 high power charging units with a total capacity of 32,080 kilowatts, covering the urban center, 14 towns, and all major transportation routes.
