COLOMBO, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka received a shipment of school uniform fabric from China on Tuesday, which is part of a larger grant to supply uniform materials benefiting Sri Lankan school children in 2026.

The fabric was handed over to Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya by Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong at a ceremony at Colombo International Container Terminals.

On behalf of the Sri Lankan government and people, Amarasuriya expressed gratitude to China's grant of the fabric, adding that the move confirms China's promise of supporting Sri Lanka's educational needs and reflects the friendship built on trust between Sri Lanka and China.
