BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- The electricity consumption of the automobile manufacturing industry in Fuzhou City and Minhou County of southeast China's Fujian Province rose by 37.9 percent and 34.84 percent year-on-year respectively in the first half of this year, while the province's auto exports hit a record high of 9.4 billion yuan.
Behind these figures lies the strong support of the State Grid Minhou Power Supply Company, which has been optimizing the business environment and promoting green energy transition to boost the high-quality development of the Southeast Automobile City, an auto industrial park in Fuzhou.
To meet the needs of the Southeast Automobile City and the 205 upstream and downstream enterprises in the park, the State Grid Minhou Power Supply Company has deepened its service reforms this year.
The company moved service counters directly into the industrial park. By collaborating with local government departments, it has enabled online and offline access to 13 types of services, including joint applications for water, electricity, gas, and internet, as well as simultaneous business registration and electricity connection.
To date, this new service has resolved 27 power usage requests, advanced the construction of a 110-kV substation, and saved enterprises a total of 28 million yuan in electricity costs.
In terms of promoting green and low-carbon transformation, the power supply company has leveraged financial empowerment and technical support to help enterprises reduce energy consumption and enhance export competitiveness.
The State Grid Minhou Power Supply Company facilitated the implementation of green financial platforms and products, providing 785 million yuan in green credit support to park enterprises.
The surge in power data reflects the accelerated intelligent transformation of the local industry. Since the Southeast Automobile City project settled in Minhou in 1995, the area has grown from a single carmaker into an industrial cluster. Through intelligent upgrades, the single-vehicle assembly time at the production line has been shortened to 60 seconds, with energy consumption dropping by 66 percent.
It is estimated that by the end of 2025, the industrial output value of enterprises above the designated size in the Southeast Automobile City will exceed 100 billion yuan, an increase of approximately 39.6 percent from 71.64 billion yuan in 2024. The State Grid Minhou Power Supply Company will continue to strengthen power guarantees to support the leap of this 100-billion-level auto industrial cluster.
