TUNIS, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- China's tech giant Huawei and Tunisia's Computing Center of Al-Khawarizmi (CCK) jointly held a seminar on Monday in Tunis, with the aim of enhancing Tunisia's smart education and telemedicine services.

Tunisian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mondher Belaid said at the event that the world is undergoing an unprecedented technological revolution, including the rapid development of artificial intelligence, big data, various cutting-edge digital platforms, cybersecurity, and next-generation infrastructure, noting that Tunisia will leverage these new technologies to build a better and safer future.

Belaid said Tunisia looks forward to strengthening cooperation with partners in emerging technology fields to improve the quality of higher education and scientific research, food security, energy transition, healthcare, digital public administration, and economic competitiveness.

The Director General of CCK, Saoussen Krichen, said that the cooperation with Huawei has had a profound impact on Tunisia's technological landscape.

The CCK provides internet services for the higher education and scientific research sector in Tunisia.

Feng Qiyou, president of Huawei Cloud Northern Africa, said that Huawei and CCK have jointly launched the first platform for educational and scientific research cloud services in North Africa, which covers more than 450 educational and research institutions and serves 14 universities in Tunisia, offering "all-round support" for scientific collaboration, online teaching, and resource sharing.

Feng added that the AI applications on this platform have successfully implemented AI-powered medical imaging screening, which significantly enhances the efficiency of telemedicine services in Tunsia.
