Traditional Chinese medicine experts give free consultations, treatment to people in SW Cambodia

December 08, 2025

Abstract : A team of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) experts in Cambodia on Saturday provided free consultations and treatment to workers and local people here in southwestern Cambodia.

KOH KONG, Cambodia, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- A team of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) experts in Cambodia on Saturday provided free consultations and treatment to workers and local people here in southwestern Cambodia.

Held at the Cambodian Tatay Hydropower Limited in Thma Bang district, the one-day event allowed patients to experience the charm of TCM culture firsthand.

At the event, nearly 200 hydropower plant workers and residents received health consultations and treatment.

Koy Sareth, a 57-year-old Cambodian patient who had diabetes, hypertension, indigestion, and body aches for years, said she felt better after receiving acupuncture.

"I'm elated that the Chinese doctors have come to give us free treatment," she told Xinhua. "I feel less indigestion and less waist pain."

"For me, this treatment is really effective," Sareth said.

TCM is known for helping heal issues such as osteoporosis, insomnia, infertility, pain, chronic cough, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and interstitial lung disease. It consists of therapies such as acupuncture, moxibustion, and Tuina remedial massage.

Suos Sareth, a 64-year-old Cambodian patient, said he has had high blood pressure, diabetes, and arthritis for nearly two years.

"I hope I could recover from my illnesses, and this was the first time I experienced acupuncture," he told Xinhua. "I trust this treatment, which is very good for other people and me."

"I would like to thank the Tatay Hydropower company for inviting good doctors to provide treatment to patients here," he added.
