BEIJING, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- The 2025 Pearl Bay Climate Investment and Financing Conference is set to take place in Nansha District of Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province from December 9 to 10.
The two-day conference, themed "Green GBA, Smart Future", aims to gather global political, business, academic, and research leaders to discuss opportunities and pathways for green development.
Discussions will focus on key topics, including promoting climate technology through green finance, opportunities for low-carbon industries during China's 15th Five-Year Plan period, and improving the global environmental governance system.
The event will feature one main venue and three overseas sub-venues in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Brazil. It will also include a main conference and five parallel sessions, covering diverse issues such as international climate investment and financing empowering new quality productive forces and leveraging blue carbon to boost high-quality development of the marine economy.
Furthermore, the conference will host three thematic sessions focusing on carbon market and green futures innovation and innovative pathways for climate investment and financing.
A series of activities and achievements will be launched or released during the conference, including the promotion of innovative financial cooperation cases in Nansha, achievements in sustainable credit practices, outcomes of climate change response practices, and a climate financing video collection campaign.
The Climate-Friendly Enterprises (Technology) Expo and Nansha Investment Promotion Exhibition will be held concurrently. This event will showcase cutting-edge green and low-carbon technologies and products, as well as Nansha's favorable business environment and industry cluster opportunities, establishing a platform for global green investment and cooperation in Nansha.
The conference is jointly hosted by the brand work office of Xinhua News Agency, Xinhua News Agency Guangdong Bureau, and China Economic Information Service.
