BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- East China-located Yantai Power Supply Company hailed recently inclusion of its Changdao green grids case into a report released at a side event of China Pavilion at 30th Conference of Parties (COP30) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The report entitled "Green Transformation Practice Report of Chinese Enterprises 2025" approached the public in Belem, Brazil, where the COP30 was convened in mid November.
Via presenting 2024-2025 flagship cases, the report shares with the world latest Chinese corporate experience in ecology protection, new type of power systems, industrial transformation, efficient resource utilization and digital technology empowerment.
The company's case of its green grids built in the Changdao national nature reserve, a key ecological functional zone in Yantai City of east China's Shandong Province, has been included in the report. It stands for a harmonious co-existence case of the grids and nature.
Apart from integrating its green grids construction into the "zero-carbon island" planning of Changdao Island in Yantai, the company established mechanisms to protect the migration routes of migratory birds and habitats for marine life in the nature reserve.
For the first time at home, flexible DC distribution tech-based micro-grids distributed in a broad area there were interconnected, breaking bottlenecks such as wide-area networking of micro-grids groups, multi-modal control optimization and fine integration of grids and the environment.
Such tech innovations, which stand at the forefront of comparable tech in China, offer new models for digestion of green electricity generated by related clean power devices in Changdao national nature reserve.
The company also took the initiative to establish "carbon accounts" for local supply chain businesses. Through green power credits in such accounts, it evaluates carbon capabilities of these businesses and monitors their emissions to better build a green grid-boosting community with shared interest.
Located in Yantai City, the grid operator is a subsidiary of State Grid Shandong Electric Power Co., Ltd.
