BEIJING, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition showcasing exquisite white porcelain artworks from Dehua County in southeast China's Fujian Province opened at the China Cultural Center in Paris, France, on November 18.
The exhibition, titled "Blanc de Chine · Porcelain from Dehua · Paris Exhibition" is one of the main events of the 2025 BASI World Peace Forum & the China Dehua and Hui'an Culture and Art Week in Paris.
Addressing at the opening ceremony, Alexandre Navarro, Secretary-General of the French National Commission for UNESCO, said that the dialogue among civilizations advocated by UNESCO cannot be achieved without the active participation of artists and the public. The Dehua porcelain and Hui'an clothing on display vividly demonstrated the unique role of artworks in promoting cross-cultural exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, he added.

Fang Junqin, Party Chief of China's Dehua County, said that France is an important export market for Dehua's ceramic products and also a key stop of the "Blanc de Chine · Porcelain from Dehua" international itinerant exhibition. The exhibition represents a practice of Dehua in conveying the concept of peace to the world, said Fang.
In a video address, Saad al-Qaddumi, President of the World Crafts Council, noted that Dehua porcelain was included in the European collections as early as the 17th-18th centuries. The exhibition in Paris once again demonstrates the profound historical heritage of cultural exchange between China and France.

The selection of the finely crafted Dehua white porcelain attracted numerous visitors. An architect from Cameroon was deeply impressed by the craftsmanship of the white porcelain on display. He said that China's porcelain is part of Chinese culture. It is a cultural exchange and should be promoted worldwide. He hopes to see such exhibition in Africa in the future.
A French visitor, who is a fan of Chinese culture, told the reporter that he was fascinated by the pure coloration and exquisite craftsmanship of Dehua white porcelain. He said that he hoped to visit Dehua to learn more about the history and craftsmanship of the porcelain.
