BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- The fifth China-Pacific Island Countries Political Leadership Dialogue was held in Beijing on Wednesday, with both sides vowing to strengthen cooperation.
Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and political leaders and diplomatic envoys from Pacific island countries in China attended the dialogue.
Liu said China appreciates Pacific island countries' adherence to the one-China principle. The CPC is willing to work with political parties and politicians of Pacific island countries to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both sides, act as a leading force in building consensus, a model for mutual learning, and a driving force for practical cooperation, and join hands to build a closer China-Pacific island countries community with a shared future.
Leaders of political parties from Pacific island countries expressed their willingness to strengthen dialogue and exchanges with the CPC, deepen cooperation across the board, jointly implement the four major global initiatives put forward by China and work to promote regional peace, stability, development and prosperity.
