BEIJING, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- With the success of inaugural power transmission of six special transformers, the Chongqing new energy heavy-duty large-scale network demonstration project in Hechuan in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality has been put into operation.
The move marks full implementation of the first "all-domain coordination and netted coverage" operation network for the new energy heavy-duty truck in China's western region. It also injects new impetus of zero-carbon transportation capacity into northbound hub of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
Chongqing is a key city of China's development drive in the west region and an important node along the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Pushing forward green energy transformation of the logistics system is of great importance for facilitating high-quality development in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and implementing the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals.
Under the guarantee of reliable power supply, Zhongji New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has completed a three-phase project for building up a closed-loop operating system covering the entire chain of "trucks, stations, power supply, and aftermarket" of new energy heavy-duty truck in Chongqing in two years.
The operation of the Hechuan project on November 8 is the third phase of the company's project. It has put 100 electric heavy-duty trucks into operation and built an integrated photovoltaic storage, charging and battery swapping station, achieving a complete replication and in-depth rooting of Chongqing's new energy heavy-duty trucks in the regional hub.
As an important logistics hub in the northern part of Chongqing and a key node of the the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Hechuan has successfully connected its new energy heavy-duty truck system to the main network of the regional bulk material transportation through this project, providing full-process zero-carbon logistics services for industries such as building materials and paper making.
The State Grid Chongqing Hechuan Electric Power Company has taken several approaches to give full support to the Hechuan project, including allocating a special investment of over 3.6 million yuan (about 505,588 U.S. dollars) in construction of the supporting power grid project, opening a "green channel" for power application, and providing tailored power supply plans.
It is learned that Chongqing Municipality is planning to build 200 megawatt-level supper charging stations for heavy-duty trucks in five years in a bid to systematically weave charging ecologic network for such trucks throughout the city.
