MELBOURNE, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Sinopec, one of the world's largest integrated energy and chemical companies, on Tuesday officially opened its first retail petrol station in Australia, marking a significant milestone in the company's international growth.
The station is located in Frankston, southeast of Melbourne, along the Nepean Highway.
"Sinopec's mission is simple, to bring green and premium energy to Australia and to the wider communities we serve," said Sinopec Australia General Manager Yang Boyu at the opening ceremony.
"Through our global vision of Cleaner Energy, Better Life, we are investing in projects that deliver environmental and economic benefits, while deepening our long-term partnership with the Australian people," Yang said.
Frankston City Mayor Kristopher Bolam congratulated Sinopec on the opening.
"Frankston is proud to welcome Sinopec, a global company investing in our city, creating local jobs and strengthening essential infrastructure," Bolam said, describing the service station as "a symbol of confidence and partnership."
