BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center in Yiwu of east China's Zhejiang Province officially opened for operation on October 14, marking that the city embarks on a new journey of leaping from traditional trade models to the digital trade ecology, and building a digital, international, modern, and low-carbon global trade benchmark.

The Center is not only an expansion and upgrade of physical space, but also a comprehensive reconstruction of the trade ecology. It centers on new trade, new markets, and new landmarks, comprehensively promoting the upgrading of the four core elements of "people, goods, venues, and chains", and laying out five functional areas of markets, commercial office buildings, commercial districts, apartments, and digital trade ports.
It is learned that the Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center project was launched in 2022, with a construction area of 1.25 million square meters. The market section has a construction area of 410,000 square meters, and merchants from eight new industries such as fashion and jewelry, creative trendy toys, and intelligent equipment have settled in the area, with those having independent brands or operating IP products accounting for 57 percent.
The new market has creatively built a "1+3+N" digital trade ecology, namely a high-energy-level digital trade port that integrates digital trade display, data trading, and new product release, three core platforms of Chinagoods, Zhijie Yuangang and Yiwu Pay, and multiple digital empowerment scenarios, to promote better digital trade services, lower costs, and higher efficiency.
Meanwhile, new models and business forms such as AI big model application, digital trade, and cross-border e-commerce are flourishing. The "Kujiale studio shooting" project of Manycore Tech can achieve 1-minute image production, 5,000 scenes, and 1/10 cost. The embodied intelligence technology has been practically applied in the market, with quadruped robots of DEEP Robotics replacing safety officers to conduct night patrols in the market, which is more efficient, convenient, and safe.
It is worth mentioning that during the opening period of the Center, a series of activities will be held successively, including 10,000 foreign merchants entering the market, AI+market digital trade summit, brand overseas strategy release conference, etc., to inject strong impetus into market prosperity.
