BUCHAREST, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- The 2025 China Tourism Fair opened on Friday at the Chinese Cultural Center in Bucharest, bringing together more than 100 representatives from China and Romania's tourism, culture and education sectors.

Chinese Ambassador to Romania Chen Feng said the event was intended to act as "a bridge for deeper tourism cooperation and common development" and to encourage more Romanians to "visit China and understand China."

Cosmin Corendea, head of the Romania-China Friendship Group in parliament, described tourism as "a form of public diplomacy" that helps build mutual understanding.

Corendea called for the resumption of direct flights between Bucharest and major Chinese cities, saying the routes would "stimulate academic, tourist and investment mobility."

Alin Burcea, president of Romania's National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT), said the fair encourages collaboration and openness to translate tourism potential into concrete outcomes.

The three-day fair, co-hosted by the Chinese Cultural Center in Bucharest and ANAT, features 17 booths from the cultural and tourism sectors.

Alongside travel product displays, the event includes a "Study in China" consultation area, tourism video screenings and cultural experiences including tea art, calligraphy and Chinese culinary displays.
