BUDAPEST, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese and Hungarian officials and scholars highlighted deepening historical and cultural ties at the "Civilization Grand Lecture Series" held Tuesday at the Budapest China Cultural Center.
Imre Pesti, member of the Hungarian Parliament, emphasized Hungary's role as a bridge between East and West and its support for the Belt and Road Initiative, noting 21 weekly flights now link Budapest and China.
Ji Bingxuan, president of the Chinese Association for International Understanding, called for broader exchanges in culture, media, and youth to strengthen bilateral people-to-people bonds.
Hungary-China Friendship Association chair Judit Eva Nagy cited six Confucius Institutes, 3,000 Chinese students in Hungary, and Hungarian courses at over a dozen Chinese universities as proof of vibrant cultural exchanges.
Chinese Ambassador to Hungary Gong Tao said bilateral cultural exchanges have continued to deepen, building a bridge for Eurasian civilizations.
