BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- China's auto industry group called on domestic and international carmakers to enhance collaboration on technological innovation and industrial chains.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) emphasized the need for an "open, fair and non-discriminatory" international market environment to support technological progress and sustainable development in the auto sector.
The CAAM urged companies to strengthen cooperation on electrification and intelligent mobility to ensure green, safe and high-quality development of the global auto industry.
The industry group also pledged to "actively support and cooperate with investigations by relevant authorities," reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding fair trade and the legitimate rights and interests of the industry.
The statement came after China's Ministry of Commerce announced on Saturday that it had initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports of certain analog IC chips originating from the United States. On the same day, the ministry also announced the launch of an anti-discrimination investigation into relevant U.S. measures targeting China's integrated circuit sector.
