COPENHAGEN, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Danish business leaders voiced confidence in the outlook for China-Denmark economic cooperation during a high-level China-Denmark business roundtable in Copenhagen on Friday.
"Without dialogue, we cannot understand each other. We cannot make trade," Kasper Elbjorn, senior vice president and head of corporate communications at Danfoss, a Danish industrial company that produces automation and equipment for controlling plants and processes, told Xinhua.
He said the company's nearly three decades in China have made the market its second largest. "We are dedicated to our Chinese customers. Danfoss products fit very well with China's five-year strategy, and we're proud to contribute to the country's decarbonization plans. It's our second-biggest market, and that's why we continue to invest in China, for China."
Lukas Lausen, head of global trade and investment at Danish Industry (DI), Denmark's largest business and employers' organization, said Danish companies' long presence in China underpins continued engagement.
"Danish companies have been active in China for decades. Some of them, as we've seen today, (have been active in China) for more than 100 years, and many others have been active on the Chinese market for the last many decades," said Lausen.
"China is a very important market for Danish companies... It will continue to be so in the future for our companies," he added.
The roundtable was held during a Chinese delegation's visit to Copenhagen led by Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
In his speech, Ren highlighted that more than 500 Danish enterprises have invested in over 1,300 projects in China across sectors including pharmaceuticals, maritime transport, clean energy, waste and water treatment and environmental protection equipment, as well as agricultural and food products.
During the four-day visit from Tuesday to Friday, the Chinese delegation held dialogues and matchmaking sessions with Danish officials, institutions and companies on trade and investment, green transition, transport and logistics, biopharmaceuticals, and the digital economy, and promoted the Fourth China International Supply Chain Expo.
