PRAGUE, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese film "Great Love Dunhuang" was screened here on Sunday night as part of the ongoing ASEAN+3 film festival, which brings together works from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries plus China, Japan, and South Korea.
Speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Feng Biao noted that Dunhuang, situated at the western end of China's Hexi Corridor, was a vital hub along the ancient Silk Road and had witnessed the rich exchanges among different ethnic groups and civilizations throughout history.
The film focuses on the dedication of three generations of researchers to preserving Dunhuang's cultural relics, revealing the grandeur and historical depth of Dunhuang. It was shown with English and Czech subtitles at the Municipal Library of Prague.
Among the audience was Vaclav Laifr, a Czech visitor to Dunhuang two decades ago, who said the film left a strong impression on him. "I feel heartened that today these treasures ... have received strong national support," he said.
The ASEAN+3 film festival runs in the Czech capital from Sept. 3 to 10. China also presented a film about the China-Laos Railway.
