BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Huning met with President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso on Thursday in Beijing.
Sassou Nguesso is in China for commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
During the meeting, Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said China is willing to work with the Republic of the Congo to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and bring greater benefits to the two peoples.
Sassou Nguesso said the Republic of the Congo firmly abides by the one-China principle, and fully agrees with the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping.
He said the Republic of the Congo is willing to cooperate with China closely in building a high-level community with a shared future between the two countries, and work together to safeguard international fairness and justice.
