BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on Thursday met with Kate Forbes, president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
Han, who is also the honorary president of the Red Cross Society of China, said China is ready to further strengthen cooperation with the IFRC in various areas.
As an active supporter of the international humanitarian cause, China is willing to work hand-in-hand with all progressive and just forces around the world to advance the global governance system toward a fairer and more equitable direction, he said.
Forbes said the IFRC is willing to work with China to address global humanitarian challenges and make new and greater contributions to the international humanitarian cause.
