BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Third Economic and Trade Fair for China's Northward Opening-up, themed "A Gateway to the North, A Bridge to the Future", was held recently in Hohhot, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, attracting 300-plus participants from 16 countries and regions to have in-depth exchanges on areas like expanding opening-up, fostering high-quality development and achieving mutual benefits and win-win results.
Today's Inner Mongolia is opening up wider, and it boasts resource and location advantages with solid industrial foundation, Yang Jin, vice chairman of the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, stated in his speech.
Inner Mongolia has continuously made new achievements through high-level opening-up to the north, involving foreign trade, two-way investment and the construction of international logistics ports, noted Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong, stressing that the Ministry of Commerce will support the autonomous region in forging new advantages for opening up to the north with a series of measures such as deepening multilateral cooperation, creating open platforms, and cultivating emerging fields.
Representatives from Mongolia, Russia, and Japan introduced their own industrial advantages and market demands, and expressed willingness to further deepen cooperation with Inner Mongolia at the event. The Department of Commerce of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Department of Commerce of Hainan Province, and Ordos City carried out promotional activities targeting global investors.
The overall plan on the development of the Erenhot-Zamyn-Uud economic cooperation zone was issued at the event, marking a new stage of economic and trade cooperation between China and Mongolia.
21 major projects were signed at the scene, with the investment totaling 65.294 billion yuan, involving cross-border service trade, mineral resource development, new energy technologies, new energy, new materials, digital economy, and modern agriculture.
The 21 projects, together with the 3,186 investment promotion projects implemented this year, will further smooth the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor and promote the deep integration of cross-border industrial chains.
