BEIJING, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Fifth China-Mongolia Expo kicked off in Hohhot, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on August 25, bringing together over 400 guests from home and abroad.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the founding of the China-Mongolia Expo. Themed on "Win-Win Cooperation for Shared Success", the four-day event provides a platform for domestic and international participants to explore business opportunities.

In recent years, China and Mongolia have continued to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors. Inner Mongolia, as China's gateway for opening up to the north, plays a key role in facilitating China-Mongolia exchanges and cooperation, said Sun Shaocheng, Party chief of Inner Mongolia.

China has been Mongolia's largest trading partner for many consecutive years. Data showed that in 2024, bilateral trade between China and Mongolia hit a record high of 18.62 billion U.S. dollars.

Since its inauguration in 2015, the China-Mongolia Expo has evolved into a major international exhibition for strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, industry, and culture between the two countries. Meanwhile, it has become a vital platform for communication, business opportunities, pragmatic cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges, said Jambaltseren Tumur-Uya, State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia.

The expo has promoted deeper cooperation between China and Mongolia, as well as with other Belt and Road participating countries, in the fields such as trade and investment, infrastructure connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges, further enhancing the level of opening-up in Inner Mongolia.

Looking ahead, Inner Mongolia will work with Mongolia to advance cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture and animal husbandry, energy, and infrastructure while promoting cultural exchanges, so as to deliver more benefits to the people of both countries.
