WARSAW, June 17 (Xinhua) -- A forum dedicated to enhancing economic cooperation and mutual understanding between China and Poland was held on Tuesday in Warsaw. The event attracted former senior politicians, scholars, and business representatives from both countries.
During the forum at Lukaszewski University, Li Danhong, charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Poland, presented China's foreign policy principles and its development model, emphasizing the country's commitment to building an open global economy, safeguarding free trade, and sharing the dividends of its modernization.
China is willing to collaborate with Poland to maintain an open and cooperative international environment and to contribute positively to global prosperity and stability, she said.
Polish political figures at the forum also shared their insights on current global dynamics and the state of bilateral relations.
Former Polish Deputy Prime Minister Janusz Piechocinski noted that the world has grown more interconnected and Poland is following such a trend, serving as a key gateway to Europe. He commended China's visa-free policy, which, he said, enables the Polish people to experience the real China firsthand, further promoting bilateral economic, trade, and cultural exchanges.
Krzysztof Janik, former minister of the interior and administration, expressed concern about the far-reaching geopolitical transformations and turmoils, including the Ukraine crisis and conflicts in the Middle East. These developments, he noted, have caused great instability. Janik called for more exchange and dialogue to confront common challenges and explore new ways for humanity to coexist peacefully.
Marek Traczyk, president of the Polish Media Association, highlighted the significance of the forum organized by Xinhua News Agency. He said it enables people from various sectors in Poland and China to engage in in-depth exchanges, enhance mutual understanding, promote mutually beneficial cooperation, and contribute to world peace, development, and shared prosperity.
