BEIJING, June 12 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Supply Company is using smart technology to ensure power supply during the annual rainy season, known as "plum rain season".
Following the issue of a level-IV emergency response for flooding in east China’s Zhejiang Province on June 10, the local grid company adopts intelligent and digital tools in its inspection and rectification on electricity facilities in coastal, riverine, low-lying areas and urban core drainage hubs to ensure stable power supply.
In Ninghai County of Ningbo City, staff with the local grid company conducted a thorough examination of key equipment at flood drainage station with help of drones and intelligent sensors. In Dajiahe Town, 20 kilometers away from the flood drainage station, the staff deployed intelligent water level sensors which could start the emergency drainage equipment once the water level exceeds warning level.
State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Supply Company also kept in close contact with the local meteorological department, making preparations in advance for meteorological disasters, said a staff with the grid company. (Edited by Dong Shishan, dss@xinhua.org)
