BEIJING, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Xinhua News Agency and the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in Beijing on Thursday, agreeing to deepen cooperation in the field of news and information.
According to the MoU, the two sides will focus on the development of equestrian sports -- especially the development of equestrian sports in China -- and strengthen cooperation on on-site reporting, in-depth reporting and integrated news coverage.
President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua stated at the signing ceremony that as an international news agency recognized by the International Olympic Committee, Xinhua News Agency regards sports reporting as an essential link that connects the world and conveys friendship. He expressed the hope that both sides will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation to effectively relay sports stories, Olympic narratives and equestrian tales, thus fostering people-to-people exchanges among nations.
Ingmar De Vos, president of the FEI and a member of the International Olympic Committee, said that Xinhua News Agency has provided extensive coverage of equestrian sports over the years, and the FEI has maintained a long-standing amicable relationship with Xinhua News Agency. He noted that the FEI is honored to deepen cooperation with Xinhua News Agency, adding that this is the first time the FEI has signed a cooperation MoU with a media organization.
