BEIJING, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese heavy machinery leader Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (Zoomlion, 000157.SZ) announced on February 21 in Hungary its plan to build a modern smart factory specializing in mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) in Tatabánya, as reported by the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal.
Spanning 250 mu (approximately 16.67 hectares), the advanced manufacturing facility will primarily serve European markets with localized production of scissor lifts and boom lifts upon commissioning. It is positioned as a model project for China-Hungary industrial collaboration while strengthening Zoomlion's competitive edge in Europe's MEWPs sector.
Zoomlion will accelerate project implementation according to its investment strategy, stated Zhan Chunxin, Chairman and CEO of the company, emphasizing the plan to expedite operational launch timeline.
The manufacturer has been actively expanding its international footprint across 100-plus countries and regions in recent years, with products sold to the Middle East, South America, Africa, Southeast Asia, etc.
