Chinese automobile assembly company Zonda Ghana Limited has further expanded its presence in Ghana by launching its eighth auto showroom and new car models late Thursday.

ACCRA, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese automobile assembly company Zonda Ghana Limited has further expanded its presence in Ghana by launching its eighth auto showroom and new car models late Thursday.

Yang Yang, managing director of the company, told Xinhua that the company's flourishing business is largely due to the attractive and conducive business atmosphere in the West African country.

Since its inception 18 years ago, Yang said that Zonda has established two vehicle assembly plants -- one dedicated to heavy-duty trucks and the other to light vehicles -- along with eight showrooms across the country.

"I came to Ghana in 2007 penniless. It is Ghana that made me who I am today, and I am so blessed with more than 500 staffers in Ghana," Yang said. "By doing business here and by creating jobs, we will make Ghana a better place. Ghana has made me shine, and I also want to make Ghana shine."

Yang affirmed the company's commitment to advancing the automobile industry in the country and praised the Ghanaian government's newly proposed 24-hour economy policy, stating that it would drive growth in the auto sector.

Simon Madjie, chief executive officer of the Ghana Investments Promotions Center (GIPC), hailed Zonda and other Chinese companies in Ghana for their great contributions to Ghana's economic growth and stability.

"As we unveil Zonda's new vehicles in the Ghanaian market, it is an exciting time for all of us. Investments create sustainable jobs and pay taxes to help our economy grow," he said.

Madjie assured that GIPC would put in place measures to process business permits for investors within 24 hours, in line with the government's policy.

Rami Sefari, an Algerian investor in Ghana, said Chinese auto brands have won over customers because of their robustness, modernity, and affordability. "Chinese cars have reached international levels. I used one car from Zonda during a holiday trip in Tunisia, and the car was amazing," Sefari added.
