YANGON, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- A ceremony to mark the completion of the Chinese language proficiency course (HSK Level 2) was held at the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, the state-run daily The Mirror reported on Wednesday.

The course was conducted to enhance human resource development in the hotels and tourism sector, build the capacity of staff, and improve their foreign language proficiency, the report said.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Kyaw Soe Win said the course was conducted over three months for the staff, the report said.

The arrival of Chinese tourists in Myanmar was among the highest for foreign tourists visiting the country with a visa in 2024, and the Chinese tourism market is a key potential market for Myanmar's tourism sector, the union minister said.
