February 14, 2025

Abstract : Chinese satellite maker GalaxySpace on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with True Corporation, a Thai telecom operator, for joint study and collaboration on low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite internet technology, reported Shanghai Securities News.

BEIJING, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese satellite maker GalaxySpace on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with True Corporation, a Thai telecom operator, for joint study and collaboration on low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite internet technology, reported Shanghai Securities News.

Recognizing its Thai partner as an ideal one with rich operation and service experience, Xu Ming, founder and CEO of GalaxySpace, noted that this collaboration would expand the innovative application of satellite internet in the fields of maritime, agriculture, education, and the internet of vehicles in Thailand and other ASEAN countries.

As an emerging industry, commercial space is now driving the global economy through rapid innovation, showing significant growth potential and broad prospects, according to Xu.

Earlier in the first half of 2024, the Chinese company had completed the trial of a LEO satellite internet broadband communication network in Thailand, marking the first time that China's low-orbit broadband satellite internet being applied overseas.

This collaboration between the Chinese and Thai companies represents not only a useful exploration of digital economy cooperation between the two countries, but also an important practice of the commercial space sector going global and contributing to Belt and Road cooperation through development of new quality productive forces.
